Aftercare Instructions
Depending on which aftercare you opt-in; (Derm shield or Traditional) for there are certain directions you have to follow.
Derm shield:
After your tattoo, you will be given two pieces of Derm Shield. The first piece of Derm shield will be applied by the artist after the tattoo session. This piece will stay on for 24 hours only. After 24 hours you will need to remove the bandage. When removing, take a corner of the Derm shield and peel down like a command strip. Continuously pull downward so the plastic is tight and no longer sticky. You can damage the tattoo if ripped off like a bandage. You can remove this in the shower as the water can help it peel off. Wash the tattoo with anti-bacterial soap and pat dry with a paper towel. Let skin dry naturally as well for 15-30 seconds. If the skin is wet or moist at all, the new Derm Shield will not stick. When applying the new bandage, remove half of the white backing and apply the bandage to the tattoo. Make sure to not leave large air pockets as this will compromise the integrity of the bandage and healing of the tattoo. Once that is flat on skin, remove remaining white paper backing, again, keeping the bandage smooth to the tattoo. Once the bandage is applied, look for the orange arrows and gently peel away the crosses on the top of the bandage. Once the crosses are removed you are left with a transparent breathable bandage. This final piece will remain on for 3-4 days depending on the tattoo. After the 3-4 days, remove and wash same as before and moisturize with a water-based lotion that works best for your skin.
Traditional Aftercare:
The paper towel that is place after your tattoo session will stay on for one hour. This is the only time a paper towel will be placed on your tattoo. After the hour, you will remove the paper towel and will begin to wash your tattoo every half hour for the first day. You will wash your tattoo in warm to lukewarm temperature water with anti-bacterial soap. You do not want hot water as it will expand your pores and cause the pores to soak in the A&D ointment. The antibacterial soap you want to use is just the original gold bar of dial. You don’t want any other additives in it such as aloe, lotion, perfumes or anything else like that. After you wash your tattoo, with a paper towel you will gently dab your tattoo dry and apply a thin layer of your A&D ointment. You do not want a thick layer as this will suffocate it, you just want a shiny coating. This regimen will continue until you go to sleep tonight. While you sleep, you will wash your tattoo as before only this time you will place a plastic bag such as a clean non scent trash bag or a sandwich bag on your tattoo. Tape the bag above and below the tattoo but do not tape the sides down. You want air to pass through, but the plastic will prevent your tattoo from drying out overnight. In the morning, your tattoo may feel slimy or sweaty, that is normal. You will wash your tattoo off making sure all the plasma and ink are off and apply the ointment as before. The 2nd to the 4th day you will wash the tattoo every hour instead of every half hour. Each of those nights you will wear the plastic bag. After the 4th day you will switch to a lotion of your choosing as long as it is a water-based lotion that does not have any medications, perfumes, oils or anything else that may irritate your tattoo. Do not go into pools. hot tubs, a bubble bath, the gym, or a tanning bed until your tattoo is fully healed. Do not let your tattoo scab in anyway. Scabs are not good for a tattoo as it can pull out the ink. If your tattoo begins to scab, please reach out so the tattoo can be assessed.
How should I prepare for my tattoo?
The week of your tattoo, you should keep your skin and yourself hydrated. This means drink lots of water, moisturize your skin, and exfoliate if your skin allows. The night before your appointment, be sure you get a good night’s sleep. Before your tattoo appointment, make sure you eat a decent sized meal, bring a water bottle or a drink, snacks or candies to eat throughout your tattoo appointment! Breaks are absolutely fine so please make sure you give yourself time while getting tattooed.
Please dress appropriately for the placement of the tattoo!
Do you do cover ups?
Currently, I do not offer cover up services. I can absolutely recommend another artist who can give you a beautiful piece.
What are the deposit rules?
Deposits are non-negotiable, and they are $150 for session work and $100 for small tattoos. At the time of making your appointment you will be required to leave the deposit immediately. A link will be sent to your number. This deposit is deducted from the final price of the tattoo. Deposits are non-refundable, and only transferable one time if needed to reschedule. Reschedules/cancelations have to be made 7 days in advanced a. If you cancel your appointment last minute, the deposit is then forfeited, and you must leave a new deposit when remaking the appointment. No call no shows will also forfeit the deposits. I will not keep deposits for more than one week if needed to reschedule. I will not book or reschedule those who frequently cancel, or no show. If you need to reschedule or cancel, the only acceptable way to get into contact me is through email or calling the shop. I will not answer social media.
I saw this tattoo on Pinterest, will you tattoo it?
No. I will not plagiarize any work found on the internet. I will draw my own design in my own style.
What is your touch up policy?
I will touch up tattoos for free the first time within 2 months. I will not touch up hands/fingers for free as I will warn and explain that hands can be tricky to heal, especially fine line does not last on hands. If insisted on continuing with tattooing fine line on hands and fingers then you accept these terms. After 2 months, touch ups will cost tattoo minimum.
How much does a tattoo cost?
Pricing a tattoo is extremely difficult to do through a text, email, phone or even just looking at it. There are so many variables that go into pricing the tattoo. I am currently 150 an hour for session work and I have a 100-dollar minimum requirement for small pieces. Eventually I will offer pricing for day sessions. I am more than willing to work within your budget so please let me know ahead of time and we can work something out.
